Hello! My name is Jan Šik. I come from Čeladná, a small town in the heart of the Beskydy mountains. I live in Brno, where I’m in my third year of studying for a bachelor's degree in Computer Science at VUT Brno. I have been programming since I was in high school. I love to create new things. In my school, I mostly use C and C++, where I learned the basics of programming and algorithms. We also create lots of networking and database projects. In my free time, I like to create web pages and applications, where I use Python, Rust, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and PHP with support for MySQL databases. In informatics, I like to make new ideas come true. Now I am interested in 3D modeling and printing useful things for my bike or home automation projects. When I'm not on PC, I spend the remaining time on my bike, where I compete in road cycling. I also like to travel and explore new places, especially in the mountains.
I created lots of projects during my studies at faculty and also on my own. I like to learn new things and explore new technologies. You can see some of my projects below.
Swift compiler created in C and compiles Swift code to simple assembly code.
Interpreter for assembly language created in Python/PHP which runs assembly code.
Pomodoro/Task Tracker created in Rust with support of multithreading.
TCP/UDP client/server created in C with support of multithreading.
Android app created in Kotlin/Supabase. It is a simple app for stone tracking.
